2025 BOOKINGS ON HOLD
I unfortunately do not have the capacity to take on anymore wedding clients outside of Western North Carolina, and my bookings within this region will remain limited. I have been involved in disaster relief efforts since Hurricane Helene and the following floods decimated our region on Sept 29th. So much infrastructure was destroyed, so many towns are just gone, so many lives lost, many, many more lives completely transformed. The outdoor adventure gear store I worked at for the majority of 2024 washed away along with the majority of the River Arts District in Asheville, NC. While Asheville was hit hard, so many surrounding towns and counties were hit harder.
I’ve been working with Grassroots AID Partnership since Day 4 of the hurricane aftermath, a local organization providing healthy, hot meals, clean water, and other means of fortifying aid to communities in need. As we enter the cold, winter months, needs are drastically changing. Many folks in the region still have no home, some are living in the remains of their homes, some in tents, some in hotels thanks to FEMA hotel vouchers, which run out Friday Jan 10.
In addition to working with GAP, I have been supporting local BIPOC artists with my arts organization, Caravan Art Bazaar. All of the artists in our org, including myself, lost artwork, art materials, studio space, or locations that sold our artwork since everything was located in the River Arts District. Visit our website to learn more about CAB and how you can support our artists and our ART4AID project, which help raise funds for local mutual aid programs, such as disaster relief efforts.

authentically photographing life in all its chapters and complexities
Not just your photographer. Your story is incredibly important, and getting to know you and your story plays a huge role in how I document this new chapter of yours in a way that makes you feel like you’re reliving every moment in each photo.
After photographing weddings for ten years in Chicago, Asheville, coast to coast, and across international borders, I’ve been a part of over 350 celebrations covering a wide array of cultures, traditions, and rule breakers. Knowing that every story is different, my goal is to help you plan your day in a way that allows you to have fun, relax, and live in the moment, while still creating photos you and your loved ones will cherish for years to come.
Family photos that feel real. Sessions are carefully crafted and catered to every family, allowing you to feel comfortable and have fun together. No matter what chapter you’re at in life, I document your story by creating memories through activity and exploration together.
Whether at home and in the back yard, at your favorite playground, in the heart of the city, or out in the woods to run wild, these moments are incredibly fleeting. Family can be gentle and chaotic all at the same time - embrace the unplanned and let’s get it all on camera!
Photography with a mission to help protect the disappearing rainforests around the globe. Mike from the Jungle Branch captures stories of all kinds in order to help support communities and conservation programs in the Peruvian Amazon, the mountain jungles of Sumatra Indonesia, and Western North Carolina.
The Give Back program also works to benefit Soul & Soil Project, a cooperatively-stewarded nonprofit organization based in WNC promoting regenerative lifestyles through food sovereignty and creativity. After living part time in Asheville and part time in Chicago for ten years, Mike moved to Asheville in the fall of 2022 to help his sister, founder of SSP, and their team, in hopes to build and inspire a more sustainable future together.
